Fléville has witnessed more than seven centuries of the history of the Duchy of Lorraine :

1280 : Ferry III, Duke of Lorraine, creates the fief of Fléville, of which Guillaume d'Ormes becomes lord.
1320 : large dungeon erected.
1460 : by marriage and due to the lack of heir, Fléville passes to the Lutzelbourg family.
1533 : The Renaissance castle is constructed by Nicolas de Lutzelbourg.
1620 : The heirs of Nicole de Lutzelbourg-Beauvau recover the entire feudal estate.
1758 : Stanislas, Duke of Lorraine, visits with his court.
1783 : The Duchess de Brancas creates a literary salon at Fléville.
1812 : The estate passes into the hands of Alexandre de Lambel.
1828 : Fléville becomes a "Majorat".
1940-45 : Fléville is occupied but remains largely intact.
1954 : The castle is opened to the general public.
